Peace and Blessings, I want to thank you for your time. My name is Coach Jamar T. Brown and I am the Founder and Director of Programming of The S.T.O.R.M. Academy which is a civic, youth, and community organization based out of Bridgeport, Connecticut. We have two programs under The S.T.O.R.M. Academy foundation which is The S.T.O.R.M. Academy with Mobile Coach Brown and the Family and E.Y.E. Camp and Clinic Series. Our mission is to inspire and assist students, student-athletes, and parents along their life journey through the use of intelligent, innovative, and intense intervention. Our young men and women are diverse and come from all levels of the economic ladder. Some come from two-parent households, single-parent households, foster homes, and some are being raised by their grandparents. My work as a youth and community advocate has been challenging and rewarding for the last eighteen years. Furthermore, educational assignments, sports, and physical activities are important tools to combat: disunity, childhood obesity, gang violence, poverty, lack of resources, and a poor educational system. Our Director of Family Affairs and coaching staff came up with a great fundraising campaign to help develop and improve our organization. We are in discussion with a local facility. They will allow us to rent nine hours a week at ninety dollars per hour. The weekly budget will be $810.00. The money must be raised because lives and futures are on the line. It is our obligation as staff to raise funds to secure a fun, discipline, and educational safe haven for our youth.
Physical activity is one of the most important parts of a child’s health, well-being, and learning. Helping them incorporate it into their life is a huge priority in modern parenting — yet many parents are dismayed to find their son or daughter is not interested in sports. We provide mentoring and programs for students that are not interested in playing sports. In the midst of a pandemic, we stayed dedicated to action and change for the last thirteen months. The fundraising campaign’s title is “The Impact of $240.00.” The fundraising campaign involves the commitment of an individual. The financial commitment we will respectfully like to ask you to contribute is twenty dollars for the next twelve months. It can be expensive to run and operate programs for over fifty families. Also, we are currently applying for our nonprofit status. The funds will be used for youth and community purposes only. The continuous support from someone like you will ensure our growth and development as an organization. There are young men and women dying in our city of Bridgeport and the state of Connecticut and some parents are feeling helpless. Some young men and women are dealing with depression, anxiety, and feeling isolated. Our support staff resembles the village it takes to help young men or women mature if the difficult conditions of today’s society.
