Sherlock Holmes Gielgud was a British radio show produced by Harry Alan Towers and aired on BBC and WCRA-NBC between 1954-1955. The show was a dramatization of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories, featuring Sir John Gielgud as Sherlock Holmes and Sir Ralph Richardson as Dr. Watson. In the episode 'Charles Augustus Milverton', Sherlock Holmes resorts to some law-breaking of his own to deal with Milverton, described as 'the most dangerous man in London' and a loathsome blackmailer, preying on the weaknesses of his victims.
