Welcome to Raven's Readings. I'm reading from The Sign of the Four, written by Arthur Conan Doyle in 1890. This novel features his character, Sherlock Holmes, a detective who excels in observation, deduction, logic, and forensics. Assisting Holmes is Doctor John Watson. The Sherlock stories are narratives written from the POV of Watson, as he attempts to record and publicize Sherlock's work. This novel is the second in the series.

So far, we've met Holmes and Watson and their new client, Miss Morstan. Her father disappeared years ago, and she's been getting a pearl every year - anonymously. Now, they are to meet someone at a mysterious rendezvous in a rundown area of London, where they are greeted by an Indian servant.

I do readings twice a week, so this collection should take about six weeks. Please subscribe to my Substack newsletter, you'll be notified of my updates as soon as they are ready. If you enjoy this reading, or have other classics you'd like to hear, leave me a comment.

Remember that you can manage here which sections of my SubStack you’ll receive emails for—fiction, Odds and ends, Political Bytes, Podcastings, or all.
