A few decades ago, an elementary school going girl in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil dreamed of a future for herself in an English speaking nation. She was from a very modest background but she knew exactly what she wanted so she learned skills and grabbed every opportunity that came her way and eventually landed in the US in the 1970s.
