Whistleblower of the Week

Sherron Watkins: Part One

Listen Later

Sherron Watkins, Enron whistleblower, sits down with Jane as we approach the 20-year anniversary of the Enron scandal. Watkins worked her way up to Vice President of Corporate Development, and later blew the whistle on financial fraud in an anonymous memo to Enron’s then-CEO. Watkins talks about her upbringing in a small Texas town, being a person of faith, and her journey in accounting and financial services. They discuss the fraud and folly Watkins discovered, sending the infamous memo, and what came next. Be sure to tune in two weeks from now and listen to the second part of Jane’s conversation with Watkins!
