Everybody wants to talk about tools. Which AI should I use. What about this new one. What about the one that just dropped. And I keep saying the same thing back: the tool is not the thing that makes you good. Your principles are. Your structure is. Your actual genius is.

So this episode is me saying it out loud. Learn why you do what you do first. Then bring AI in and go fast.

Nobody tells you that making friends as an adult is work. Especially as an entrepreneur.

I made a commitment at the top of the year to build a real friend group here in Denver. Not because I can't do things alone, I do plenty alone, but because sometimes I need someone saying "we're going to this thing" to get me out of the house.

My niece listened to episode 5, the one where I laid out exactly who my person is, and she called me with corrections. Her ruling: 32 is a minor, my approved range is 36 to 39, and I am not allowed to be taking care of anybody else's kids because, and I quote, you have us.

Underneath the jokes is the part I actually needed to say out loud. I homeschooled her through second and third grade during COVID. She watched me start my business and cheered every single sale before I knew what I was doing. Now she is 13, coming into herself, telling her friends to go Google her auntie.

The scooter taught her something

Carrie used to love scooting around Denver. Headphones in, one foot up, feeling like a gymnast. Then she got too comfortable and ran right into something. Skinned thigh, bruised ego. She scooted home slow that same day.

Then $3 changed her whole mood

New scooters showed up in Denver. She hopped on, felt the wind, and remembered what fun actually feels like. Ten minutes. Three dollars. Joy for the whole day.

The flight she almost didn't change

At the E-Women Network summit in Naples, her friend Michelle asked if she wanted to stay longer. Carrie's first answer was no. Then she caught herself and said yes. That weekend turned into one of the best she's had in a long time, plus a brand new project with Michelle.

Why she's saying yes now
