In this episode, Shirley joins Melissa on the podcast to share about her journey as a physical education teacher and how while she was growing up, many social situations would make her anxious and nervous - but somehow; the Lord still called her to be in a role where she would be able to interact with many students and individuals on a daily basis. Shirley shares about physical barriers (her throat) in her first years of teaching and how teaching in the midst of a pandemic is a result of so much of God's goodness and Grace. Shirley brings to light that we truly need to know our creator, the one who created us if we want to know who we truly are. Through her injury and other hurdles in her career, Shirley holds firm to the truth that none of that affects her relationship with the Lord. Shirley is a full-time teacher and full-time auntie. She truly believes that worship is a lifestyle and loves to creatively worship during her spare time. She adores standing in awe of God's creation in the outdoors and states that the west coast, is truly the best coast. She has a heart for youth ministry, teaching and enjoys being in the presence of her family and friends.
