The time honored tradition of sport and competition happens every 4 years in the spectacle we refer to as the Olympics. In the not so recent past, the Olympics were a HUGE part of the news cycle and garnered the attention of most of us for the better part of a month. We loved the build up! The torch may have made its way through your town, and there was a focus placed on the games in all forms of media. It was splattered across the headlines of local and national newspapers, Olympians graced the covers of all the major magazines, and the nightly news was Olympic heavy for the month leading up to the games and then most likely several weeks afterward recapping the recent events. So we ask…. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED? Maybe Just Scott and Tyner The Pirate Chef are just out of touch and not paying attention, but the Olympics seem to have lost some of their luster. Gone are the days of Bart Connor and Mary Lou Retton being national heroes and the focus of conversation at dinner tables around the country.
