Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's greatness lies in the fact that even after almost 350 years, his work, prowess and thoughts still evoke inspiration. Maharaj had so firmly established the idea of Swarajya, that even though some of Shivaji Maharaj's enemies within his family, his colleagues never wavered.

But unfortunately, in our own Maharashtra, the political leaders are doing their best to widen the rift in the society by talking about Maharaj's caste and how did he behave with other communities or religions.

This is the tragedy of our Hindu religion and the result is slavery for almost 750 years, first by Muslims and then by the British, in our big Hindu-dominated country. We are the ones to be blamed.

छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज हे असे महापुरुष की ज्यांचे कार्य, पराक्रम आणि विचार यांची प्रेरणा आज सुमारे ३५० वर्षे झाली तरी अजूनही ताजी आहे. महाराजांनी आपल्या सवंगड्यात स्वराज्य स्थापनेचा ध्येयवाद इतका पक्का रुजवला होता की, जरी शिवाजी महाराजांचे काही आप्तच त्यांचा विरोधात असले तरी त्यांचे सहकारी कधीही ढळले नाहीत.

परंतु दुर्दैवाने आपल्याच महाराष्ट्रात महाराज कुठच्या समाजाचे होते आणि त्यांची इतर समाजाबद्दल अथवा धर्माबद्दल काय भावना होती यावर राजकीय नेते मंडळी हिरीरीने पुढाकार घेऊन समाजातील दुही वाढवण्याचे काम चोख करत आहेत.

हीच तर आपल्या हिंदू धर्माची शोकांतिका आहे आणि या शोकाची परिणीती काय तर आपल्या एवढ्या मोठ्या हिंदुबहुल खंडप्राय देशावर जवळजवळ ७५० वर्षे, आधी मुसलमान आणि मग इंग्रज, यांच्या गुलामीची वेळ आली. आपणच कपाळकरंटे आहोत.
