Soundarya Lahari — Nada Jnana Sudha

Shloka 65: Rane Jitva Daitya - Raga Maand

Listen Later

In the sixty-fifth shloka of Soundaryalahari, the divine Mother’s compassion is beautifully depicted by Adi Shankara. He describes a divine scene where the greatest warriors and gods, after returning victorious from a battle, seek blessings from Devi Lalitha. The supreme Mother, out of great compassion, rewards them with chewed betel leaf from Her own mouth.

Meditate on this divine imagery and learn the deeper significance of this shloka, set to the uplifting raga Maand.
