The original ending to MARk's Gospel probably ended at verse 8. Mark 16:9-20f may have been added by Mark at a future date. Earliest manuscripts indicate the shorter reading...why would Mark end his Gospel with the fear and bewilderment of the women who came to the tomb? AND...nobody saw Jesus.
