‘The house was built around 1880, and the family had only lived there a few weeks when odd things started to happen. Their daughter Elaine formed a habit of talking to herself. At first it just went unnoticed by her parents, but after a while, her mum Brenda, started to notice her daughter talking more and more on her own – she soon realised that Elaine was not in fact talking to herself but to what seemed to be … another person.’
 
What happens when you move into an old home, but you child makes a new friend? An imaginary one … or is it?  This is Haunted UK Podcast’s ‘Short Haunts’, and this is the tale of ‘A Girl Called Pep’…

The dog went everywhere with us, but there was no way we could get her into the van. It was as if she knew something was very wrong. It was a terrifying journey to the rubbish tip, and once we arrived, we energetically began throwing the items into the trash – but as quickly as we were throwing them away, people began pulling the items back out. Even when we tried to warn them about what these things were capable of … we were ignored.
