Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan stated in an interview yesterday that he is not waiting for anyone’s call. This was about the Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mohammed Qureshi’s statement earlier this week in which he claimed that Imran Khan is still waiting for a call from US President Joe Biden.
While this whole situation has blown up into a massive meme/troll fest on Twitter and Facebook, the situation in Afghanistan is looking bleaker. The Taliban has been growing in strength every day and it needs real intent from neighbours like India and Pakistan to help diffuse the volatile solution.
While the US Army is sticking to its plans to pull out, the direct snub by the Biden administration has surely hurt the Pakistani Prime Minister. His reference to the USA having chosen India as their strategic partner in the region is a clear indicator.
Our sources within the Pakistani government tell us that what added more fuel to the fire was a prank call made by former US President Donald Trump. He has reportedly called up Imran Khan yesterday and claimed that it was the official call from the US President as he was the one who won the election. He also told Imran Khan that as the REAL President of the USA, he wants to build an open relationship with Pakistan as long they will break up with China. He ended the call by inviting Imran Khan to the USA for a friendly visit.
Pakistan government has refrained from lodging an official protest at this call after Jared Kushner called to apologise and inform them it was not a prank call. Donald Trump still thinks he is the US President and is under medication and close medical supervision.
