Should 16 Year Old's Be Given The Right To Vote?
Chapter 1:
Should 16-year olds have the right to vote in Canada? This week, Calgary city council voted in favour of lower the voting age to 16 in municipal elections (although the motion still needs to receive provincial approval). It’s a conversation we’ve been having here in BC as well - a motion, proposed by Green Party leader Andrew Weaver, was passed this spring in favour of reducing the voting age.
Chapter 2:
The RCMP Musical Ride will perform at all three days of the Abbotsford Agrifair this weekend, but tomorrow, the ride (which features 32 officers on horseback) will salute the family of fallen Abbotsford PD officer John Davidson, and other members of the first responder community. 53 year old Constable Davidson was a 24 year veteran of the police force, and was shot and killed while responding to reports of a stolen car last November. Oscar Arfman has been charged with first degree murder.
