Are you in favour of free movement, having open borders? Are borders a form of global apartheid; preventing the movement of the world's poorest people and vulnerable, restricting their access to the resources and opportunities available in countries that are better off? There are already fears that people in Zimbabwe and the DRC will flee to South Africa to escape the turmoil in their respective countries. Last year President Cyril Ramaphosa called for South Africa's borders need to be open for people - particularly Africans - to move more freely and to promote business. For years other African leaders have also echoed Ramaphosa's sentiments for free movement by citizens across the continent.
