Should I Confess If I Have Hurt The One I Love? (Part 2)

Listen Later

Confession in any arena is usually not easy, it’s the point that we have to own up to something that we have done wrong.  In certain circumstances, we are usually afraid of what can happen in the future “If” we confess the wrongs that we have done.  In connection to the confession we usually carry guilt, shame, and condemnation inside.  WE no longer want to hide the truth from the one we are spending our lives with, but we are afraid of what it could mean for the relationship if we open new wounds that we cause.

We may have a need for confession, but we must remember, "There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus," though sometimes in life because of our choices we find ourselves feeling condemned deep within. Though we shouldn't be proud of our mistakes, we also can't stay in the mud if we have fallen. We make mistakes and give into temptation and then we have to deal with the consequences of our sin. This is never a good thing. When we recognize the need for forgiveness and confession we begin the process of healing if we are wise. That healing comes from God and by responding to the word which commands us to confess our faults one to another.

Argument: Confession can ultimately bring healing, even when we are faced with the worst outcomes from our confessions.  The healing of the soul is the most important.

Should I Confess if I Have Hurt The One I Love?
