Mercury, used in dental amalgam, has been linked to many health problems. Yet dentists are still placing it in people's teeth, telling them it is perfectly safe and advocating that it be left in your teeth. This is because no mainstream dental organisations recommend you replace your amalgam fillings as long as they are in good condition and there is no decay beneath them.
