Should I Get My Amalgam Mercury Fillings Removed?

Listen Later

Mercury, used in dental amalgam, has been linked to many health problems. Yet dentists are still placing it in people's teeth, telling them it is perfectly safe and advocating that it be left in your teeth. This is because no mainstream dental organisations recommend you replace your amalgam fillings as long as they are in good condition and there is no decay beneath them. Yet the IAOMT research group beg to differ stating that mercury is a neurotoxin and dental amalgams pose a significant health risk due to the release of mercury into your body over the lifetime of the filling.

It is your choice whether you continue to keep mercury amalgam fillings in your teeth or not but be educated and know how to have them removed safely if this is what you decide to do.
