Businessman Paschal Taggart argues that key workers in Dublin should receive a special allowance to offset the significantly higher cost of living and working in the capital compared to the rest of the country.

Starting next week, police officers in the City of London will receive a £6,588 (€7,877) “London allowance.”

Taggart believes that Dublin-based gardaí, along with other frontline workers like teachers and nurses, are facing a financial crisis due to the rising cost of living and should be granted similar support.
