Many Christians, when polled, believe that men must be characterized by a gentle and quiet spirit. They would argue that the Bible commands all Christians to be gentle (Philippians 4:5, Titus 3:2, Matthew 11:29-30). However, the issues are that: 1. The command to have a gentle and quiet spirit is specifically addressed to women. 2. The Bible does not command that all Christians must be quiet. 3. The command to be gentle applies differently to the two genders.
