There is a new drive for the State Government to subsidise towing courses in a bid to reduce fatalities.
According to Queensland government data, there were 50 fatalities and almost 1000 hospitalisations from accidents involving cars towing trailers or caravans from 2017-2021.
Caravan Trade and Industries Association of Queensland and Chief Executive Jason Plant told Dean Miller on 4BC Breakfast, "We're a firm believer in education over regulation."
"Just because somebody has a license doesn't necessarily mean they are a better driver and we see it all the time."
