The Winnipeg Jets had one mission this weekend: collect four out of four possible points.
It wasn’t pretty -- and for stretches it didn’t look promising -- but Winnipeg found a way, beating the Colorado Avalanche 3-1 on Saturday and the St. Louis Blues 3-2 on Sunday.
The Jets still sit five points out of a playoff spot, and while their slim hopes remain alive, the odds of postseason hockey returning to downtown Winnipeg continue to shrink.
The show also got an interesting call from a fiery listener during Free-For-All Friday. Ron was frustrated that the program keeps discussing Winnipeg’s playoff chances instead of accepting that the season may already be over. He wants the guys to focus more on the offseason and what needs to be fixed heading into next year.
Does he have a point? Should Cam and Jim throw in the towel and start looking ahead to the summer?
Murat Ates of The Athletic joins the show to discuss the Jets’ final 16 games and how the team’s roster can still be evaluated heading into mid-April.
All that and more on today’s edition of Jets at Noon.
