Who would’ve though it was spelled, “padel”? Perhaps the 18 million people that play it worldwide?! But don’t feel out of the loop because of that, dear listener. Because it’s not something we were familiar with either!
Also known as "Padel Tennis", Padel is a close relative to - you guessed it - tennis! Along with “Paddle Tennis" and “Pickleball” (mmm-hmm, you better believe it), these are all sports that look very, very similar to tennis but vary in some way.
In the case of Padel you can rebound the ball off the wall, a bit like squash. Intriguing? We thought so. And as one of the world’s fastest growing sports, seems like a lot of others do too.
So if you’re also curious, or just couldn’t give a sh*te about the Nadals or Djokovics of the world, give this one a listen.
*Important note: Not to be confused with "paddling", a term used for spanking. But you already knew that, you cheeky minx.
