We're guessing everyone else is in the same boat, but hands up if you've ever came across a #grateful post on social media. Put your other hand up if you rolled your eyes and continued scrolling. Okay, hopefully someone will look at you now with two hands in the air and wonder what you're doing. Tell them you'd be grateful if they'd stare at someone else.
We realised this week that we're actually waayy more cynical than we thought! There's a lot of studies out there saying gratitude - like meditation - is the kind of life-changing activity we all need a bit more of, but is it really the key to happiness? Or is it just something for the smug individuals out there, who post about it on social media after their 5AM start, avocado for breakfast and daily yoga routine?
In this episode, Steph puts it to the test to better understand what gratitude means, how to practice it and determine if she truly feels all of the benefits. Will she come out of it a better human? Or still just be same old cynic we all know and love?
Also discussed - the 10-10-10 method - what it is and if it's helpful; the science behind practicing gratitude (turns out it changes your brain?) and our game of the week - “Things for which you are grateful, or just find down-right distasteful!”
