Should I Bother?

Should You Bother Reaching 10,000 Steps A Day: Do You Really Need To?

Listen Later

10,000 steps a day has become this magic number in recent years that, if achieved, you can consider yourself healthier. Handy!

But have you ever wondered - how many miles does that even equate to? 10,000 sounds like a f**k load. And where do you find the time?!

Also, if it’s all about helping you be healthier, how many calories can you expect to burn? Or is it even a good method for weight loss?

This week, instead of blindly accepting this common conception, we’re actually going to try it and see if it really is as much hassle as it seems.

As always, we discuss the research to see why one would bother with this at all, followed by a very loosely related game (this week, involving Peter Kay… I did say loosely) and finished up by us talking about the experience of trying this for a week to let you know if you should bother with it too.

Make sure to listen to this entire episode without standing up. It’ll be more ironic that way.
