A new study by the Journal of Neuroscience highlights that listening to a book rather than reading it still offers considerable benefits. In fact, listening to a book likely stimulates the same emotional and cognitive parts of the brain as reading it.
“At a time when more people are absorbing information via audiobooks, podcasts, and audio texts, our study shows that whether they’re listening or reading the same materials, they’re processing somatic information similarly.”
