As a black person one of the questions we can ask ourselves is should we support other black owned businesses to help support black business. However there are two different debates about this question the first being if you aren't supporting black businesses are you really supporting the black community? The second question is if you are supporting black businesses do you have a responsibility to use that money to then support other businesses outside of the black community?

Black people love to talk about supporting each other - and for good reason. Supporting black business is one of the best ways to do that. But is it something to be taken for granted that you should support black business as a black person?

There has been a lot of talk on whether black people should support black businesses. As a black person myself I have seen this on social media as well as in real life. There have been many people who argue that we should not support black business but why? What is the actual reason? This is why I wanted to tackle this topic because I feel that there are some misconceptions about this. I can't speak for everyone, but this is my opinion, and I don't think we should have these types of debates.
