* Marvel's Doctor Strange opened with 84.9 million, right behind Thor: The Dark World's opening of $85 million. It's Marvel's 10th largest opening domestically. It did $118.7 million in the international markets. The film has high marks with both fans and critics but did receive criticisms from actor Lewis Tan who has been cast in Marvel's upcoming Iron Fist series on Netflix. Tan says he was unhappy with the casting of Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One. Tan says white-washing of Asian characters in cinema has become more common. * Fox has announced that it's renewed the Simpsons for a 29th and 30th season with all the voice talent returning. At the end of season 30, The Simpsons will dethrone Gunsmoke as the longest running television series and will also beat Gunsmoke's episode count 669 to 635.
