* Even though Fantastic Beasts opened with 75 million it's the lowest of all Harry Potter openings. The franchise's lowest domestic gross was Prisoner of Azkaban at 249 million. We'll see how it finishes off.
* With directorial efforts for both CW's The Flash and Supergirl, Kevin Smith has been asked if he would be interested in helming the now vacant Flash feature film.
* The estate of Frank Herbert, writer of the sci-fi epic Dune has revealed that the license has been acquired by Legendary Entertainment to produce films and television for the property. Dune has reached the movies once in 1984 by director David Lynch and again in 2000 and 2003 on the Syfy Network with Dune and Children of Dune, which covered the first 3 novels.
* Star Trek: First Contact make-up artist Scott Wheeler revealed that in the early stages of developing the film the role of the Borg queen was supposed to go to Cher.
* Star Trek: Discovery the new series available on CBS's new subscription stream service has announced it's first cast member - Michelle Yeoh of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
* The Walking Dead's ratings have dropped to a historic low. There's no need to pull the emergency cord due to it still dominating the tv landscape but it's shed 6 million viewers to almost 11 million, a number that hasn't been that small since season 3.
* James Cameron has officially announced that Avatar 2 will be released on December 21st, 2018.
* Florence Henderson dead at 82 from heart failure.
* Ivan Reitman promises us that the Ghostbusters franchise is not dead. He syas there are many films in development.
* Alien: Covenant has released a poster tease with a release date of May 19th, 2017 from it's original August 4th release date.
* Kathleen Kennedy of Lucasfilm says that we should expect a heist film in the tradition of American Western films for the upcoming Han Solo film. She also says that there will be a meeting to sit down in January to discuss plans for the franchise beyound 2020.
