* Rian Johnson is in the process of editing Star Wars 8 and in an interview he said when writing and filming The Last Jedi he was inspired by the movies Twelve O-Clock High for the aerial battles and the banter between the pilots and Three Outlaw Samurai for it's pulpy feel and the sword battles. To help him with the grand scale that Star Wars is known for he re-watched To Catch a Thief.
* Chris Miller and Phil Lord have started filming the Han Solo movie and tweeted a photo of the clapper, which read Han's first shot. The film is also being filmed under the name "Red Cup".
* Peter Capaldi announces that 2017 will be his final year as Dr. Who. He's the twelfth actor to play the character and has done so for the last three years. Capaldi says he always is looking for new challeges and doesn't wish to get stuck in a routine. There's no replacement that's been named but there has been support from fans and from former Dr. Who, David Tenant to finally cast a female in the role. Haley Atwell, popular for her role as Marvel's Agent Carter has been a fan favorite for years.
* James Cameron reveals how he's going to make The Terminator relevant again.
* DC character Black Lightning has had a pilot ordered. The show will be produced by Greg Berlanti. It was originally ordered by Fox but has now been moved to the CW. Should it be ordered to series Berlanti confirms that it will connect with the Arrowverse.
