Brandon Warmke, PhD, from Bowling Green State University argues that Americans’ political, social, and cultural disagreements have heated up to a place where we risk damaging our democratic process.

He’s the co-author of a new book, Grandstanding: The Use And Abuse Of Moral Talk. Warmke says the changes in how we “debate”, especially on social media, increases polarization and often is the result of people fighting over moral superiority, not actual solutions to our challenges.
