While the British Invasion was sweeping America, across the Ocean in Great Britain just the opposite was taking place. In the dance halls and record shops, soul music from Motown and Memphis was leading a quiet invasion of the northern part of England. The greats and not so well known singers here at home saw a resurgence in their careers in this most unlikely of places. Englandâ??s young and young at heart dubbed it Northern Soul.
