Across the world Governments have turned to infrastructure to steady the economy and provide a path for recovery, jobs and growth.
In Sydney priority projects include the Metro West Rail, Western Harbour Tunnel and Beaches link and South West Rail extension as well as hospitals, schools and social infrastructure. Different funding and financing models have been used in different jurisdictions and for different projects. With learnings from the past, a significant change to economic conditions and an imperative to accelerate projects now is the time to review, realign and reform the financial arrangements associated with infrastructure projects.
