In old Europe, honor was based on your family or pedigree; in the United States today it is based on your accomplishments. But the concept of honor transcends cultural and societal differences. It is a foundational principle that guides our actions and interactions with others. To show honor means to recognize and acknowledge the value someone has. We need to think differently about people. Every person has value because they are a person. The Golden Rule is the principle of treating others as one would want to be treated by them. Treat every person like a celebrity. Let others shine. Outdo one another in showing honor.
