Shreyas is the co-founder of Llama, a community that works with DAOs on protocol engineering, treasury allocation, and analytics.
Shreyas first got into crypto back in 2016 after learning about Bitcoin in college, and learned about Ethereum shortly after. With a longtime interest in economics and entrepreneurship, he quickly became attracted to the crypto space and its community-owned, open source nature. After lurking in forums and other DAO spaces for a while, Shreyas took the full web3 leap by building the original version of Llama for an ETHGlobal hackathon.
Shreyas explains the ever-expanding nature of crypto and why it’s so exciting, his views on the future of the US dollar, and the current (weird) state of the economy. We also touch on the constant hopium and copium cycles that the industry sees.
Turning to Llama, Shreyas tells us about their goal of building out economic infrastructure for DAOs and how they’re going about it. Llama is creating on-chain solutions for DAOs to allocate their treasuries, find liquidity for their native tokens, and other much needed financial services. With a strong list of collaborators, including Aave, Uniswap, Gitcoin, and FWB, Llama is already playing a big part in advancing the economic output of the entire DAO space.
Later in our conversation we dive into the power of DAOs to organize individuals on a global scale, token liquidity, incentivizing DAO contributors for the long term, and we give NounsDAO some well deserved love.
