Shuwaski Young is an East Central Mississippi native, National Guard veteran, East Central Community College and Jackson State University alum,  federal and state government appointee, and fifth-generation Mississippian.

Shuwaski is currently orchestrating a campaign in which he is vying for a seat in the United States House of Representatives to represent Mississippi's 3rd Congressional District.

Young will face incumbent Michael Guest in the general election to be held November 8, 2022.
