Active soldiers who fight in war are good soldiers and therefore they suffer. Unlike civilians, active soldiers have the duty of being disciplined and fight to obey their commanding officer who enlisted them. Second Timothy 2:3–4 highlights three things about good soldiers:

1. Good Soldiers are Dedicated to the Gospel Christ

2. Good Soldiers are Disciplined in Service to Christ

3. Good Soldiers are Devoted to the Person of Christ
