AngryWorkers are one of the most promising political collectives existing on the left in Britain today. Today, we had the chance to speak with them about their latest book, ‘Sick of it All: Work, Inquiry & Struggle in the NHS’. As a group, AngryWorkers believe in ‘getting rooted’, or entering into workplaces, becoming a part of the workforce, and engaging with the working class where they already are instead of expecting them to come to us. This led to the publication of a previous book, titled ‘Class Power on Zero Hours’ about their experiences organising in warehouses around west London. Their latest book, ‘Sick of it All’ is an anthology with contributions from members of AngryWorkers and other organisations based on their experiences as workers inside the NHS. In this video, Kenny speaks with two members of AngryWorkers about the book and the lessons they have learned through attempting the impressive feat of building working-class organisations within the NHS.
