Members Reviews:
Great Narration
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I recommend it because it is Hesse's most beautiful story.
What other book might you compare Siddhartha to and why?
Life of Pi??
Have you listened to any of Chris Hendries other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have heard Gatsby and Treasure Island, and Metamorphosis - this is hard to compare since it is more of an epic poem than a "novel".
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
No Keanu Reeves!
Any additional comments?
Yes, I wrote a review and you lost it This is a beautifully rendered version of "Siddhartha" that captures the music of Hesse's tone and rhythm - Chris Hendrie's skills bring out the respect and love Hesse had for the life of this great teacher - in a voice that is captivating.
Bad audio
Classic story. When the audio was good it was good but many fluctuations and dubbed over sounding sections throughout the book. Sounds like a draft copy.
first audio book!
Really enjoyed this book. the storey in wonderful and enlightening. I hated the narration changes.
Bad recording
Great book, great reading, terrible recording. Cuts in and out; often barely audible. Skip this one.
Poor sound editing.
Other version a far easier listen. This one has a decent narrator, but sounds like it has been pieced together from various clips recorded at different times. Not a pleasant experience.
