Side Hustle Millionaire | Tony Whatley
Tony Whatley is a Business Strategist, Public Speaker, host of the 365 Driven Podcast, and author of the Side Hustle Millionaire: How to build a side business that creates financial freedom.
Tony put himself through college by working full-time as a pipefitter and welder, attending school at night. On weekends, he also worked in restaurants to help pay bills. It took Tony 7 years to earn a degree in mechanical engineering.
After graduation he began working his way through engineering design roles, and then into Project Management (including stints in Europe and Africa.
Alongside his oil career, Tony became an expert at creating part-time “side-hustle” businesses. He’s created both 6-figure and 7-figure online businesses, that were managed 1-2 hours a day. The latter one generated multiple six-figures of yearly income, far more than his oil career at the time. In 2007, at age 34, Tony became a millionaire when he sold that company. All of this was accomplished in his spare time.
When Tony turned 40, he began to question his real purpose in life. He decided that he wanted to teach others how to become the best version of themselves. In May of 2017, Tony decided to step away from his career in Oil and Gas, and founded 365 Driven.
In this episode Tony talks about growing up in a lower middle class family and the impact it had on his early view of the world, the myth that all new businesses need to high tech or feature some amazing new invention that will change the world, and shares the strategies and tactics he used to create his side hustle businesses.
