Episode 017 – Sidney Collins is a front end developer with more than 10 years experience. She is the first front-end developer we have interviewed on CodePrep that has a CS degree. She enjoys a wide range of hobbies including ornate cosplay. She currently works for a startup here in Atlanta, GA.

Her father was a civil engineer so she was always around computers when she visited her office. She would make basic websites. In college, she was studying English with an intent to become an attorney. She took the web electives class for fun and also because it provided an easy A. Her professor took notice that she was doing well in the class and asked her if she was interested in studying this more and she found out that she could make money by doing this. After that encounter, she switched to studying computer science after two years in college.
