In I Peter 3:8-17, Peter gives us some very specific traits of a true Christ follower. We all have valleys and mountains in our lives and sometimes do not act like the example of Jesus Christ. But if you want to show Jesus to others there are ways that they will know you follow Christ. Verse 8 gives us five examples of how we should conduct our life with other Christians and with everyone else. 1) Be of one mind with each other, 2) Have compassion for each other, 3) Love each other, 4) Be tender-hearted to each other, and 5) Be courteous to each other. Do not repay evil with evil or anger with anger. Metaphorically, wash the feet of others. Know you are blessed and that you can be a blessing to others. It is not an easy life. But, as Paul reminded us in Romans 12:19, “…it is written, vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” Do not seek to get back at someone. Speak well, control your tongue, do good, and seek peace. God listens to the righteous. It is better to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. Do not be afraid of living your faith. Be ready to give a reason for your faith in God. Do you know the man of salvation? Trust me, He knows you!
