Swiss biomedical researchers have discovered that prostate cancers require the enzyme PI5P4K for survival. This enzyme, a lipid kinase, is critical for androgen receptor signaling and prostate cancer viability and progression. The researchers suggest targeting this enzymatic system as therapy for the eradication and possible prevention of prostatic cancer. It’s in the future, but let’s hope it pans out.
