Today, I'm covering S2E11: Uneasy Rider, which aired on January 14, 1984.

In this episode Ricky's mother comes to visit, he manipulates her into buying a dirt bike for him after Edward decides against it. Ricky's resentment over Kate's advice on the topic also confuses the matter of her relationship with Edward.

This episode really showcased Edward and Evelyn as co-parents and poor Kate is stuck in the middle after she offers her opinion of why she feels Ricky shouldn’t have a motorcycle/dirt bike/motorbike.

This bike gets called so many things it is definitely NOT a motorcycle.

Edward and Ricky come to blows for the first time and Ricky throws it in his father’s face that he allowed Kate to influence his decision in being against him getting a bike after Edward was originally all for it when they first walked in the door.

Kate brings up the story of her cousin who once rode his motorcycle in the woods and after hitting a fallen log, he is later paralyzed.

What age do you feel is appropriate for a teen to have a motorbike? Or are you completely against it?

Later this week we get our final appearance of J.T. played by Bobby Fite in S2E12: The World's Greatest Father which aired on January 21, 1984.

In this episode J.T.'s dad gets angry when his son agrees with Rick that Edward is the world's greatest father because of the time they spend together, so Edward gives Rick a lesson in appreciating the advantages he has.
