Today I’m covering S2E12: The World’s Greatest Father

In this episode J.T.'s dad gets angry when his son agrees with Rick that Edward is the world's greatest father because of the time they spend together, so Edward gives Rick a lesson in appreciating the advantages he has.

Also in this episode I talk about the first 3 American VHS releases, Willy Wonka’s “Cheer Up Charlie” Song, my most valuable Funko Pop, April Snow Storms in Michigan, Full House and other things.

This was J.T. Martin (Bobby Fite)’s last appearance on Silver Spoons.

I learned from this episode Edward gets a parental wake up call or dose of reality from J.T’s father who works two jobs and has three kids (possibly a widower, hey this could be like a early Full House Scenerio with the genders swapped), some father’s don’t get to work from home and spend all their time with their kids.

I understand how J.T. telling his dad how great Ricky’s father is, feels like a kick in the teeth to his Dad because of how much he sacrifices just to give his kids the basics.

In this episode Edward has arranged a mountain cabin for a relaxing family retreat with Ricky and Kate. Ricky invites Dexter as well when he learns he will be alone for the weekend, but Dexter ends up being anything but relaxed.

In this episode Rick tries to change to a more edgy image in order to impress some girls - but when they pressure him into things he doesn't want to do, life on the edge starts to make him uncomfortable.
