The October 9 issue of the New Yorker includes the article, How The Elderly Lose Their Rights. It exposes the rampant abuse of the guardianship of older adults, wherein unscrupulous “guardians” file emergency ex parte petitions to appropriate the assets of perfectly capable seniors. They move them out of their homes, manage their healthcare and often exclude siblings or children in participating in the seniors life.
