Silvia Nakkach, MA, MMT, is an award-winning composer, a former music psychotherapist, a voice-culturist, and pioneer in the field of sound and transformation of consciousness and music and shamanism. She is the founding director of Vox Mundi School of the Voice, and she is the creator of the Sound, Voice, Music Healing Certificate at California Institute of Integral Studies (San Francisco), and the director and core faculty of the pioneering academic Masters in Integrative Health with a focus on Sound Healing. She has contributed an extensive body of therapeutic vocal techniques that have become landmarks in the field of sound and music therapy. She leads voice and sacred music retreats in the United States, Brazil, India, Argentina, Japan, and throughout Europe. For more than 27 years Silvia has studied Hindustani classical music and the ragas with the late maestro Ali Akbar Khan, and she specializes in Dhrupad singing, a classical ancient form of yoga of sound. She has released 9 albums, her two new albums and her latest book; Free Your Voice will be released this year by Sounds True.
