Simple Church for Simple People

This is a podcast with my wife Tricia discussing our experiences with kids in our church, especially how things have changed over the last two years since my original podcast about kids and simple church.

I sometimes hear conventional church people say that consensus governance is impossible. I know by experience that it is not only possible, but wonderfully beneficial. Our house church makes decisions by consensus, and it has been a blessing for us. In this podcast I discuss why it works in the organic setting and some of the benefits we've experienced.

In this episode I share my experiences amd advice in regards to multiplication.

I went into starting a house church with a fantasy about what it should look like. Reality was a different story. Turns out the ideal is somewhere in between. Recognizing both fantasy and reality is helping me strive towards the ideal.

New Episode. What does it take to plant a simple church? I'm sure there are many things that could be said, but these are three from my experience.

Repost--I'm no Larry King when it comes to interviewing, but I thought some people might like to hear a spouse's perspective.

Repost--Knowledge & Practice

Neil Cole calls these three roadblocks to multiplication. I agree.

Finally! I wanted to let you know about the new name for our nonprofit--Organic Church Resource and that I've made updates to the website including a bookstore. Check it out at organicchurchresource.org. I will be doing new podcasts starting in June. I'll also be reposting 2 or 3 older episodes before the end of May.

Though some people choose to measure church health by baptisms, I think this method is highly inadequate.
