Oftentimes we complicate aspects of life unnecessarily. We think that the shuffling of our debt to outsmart rewards programs, over-leveraging ourselves to take advantage of cheap money, or taking investment risks in asset classes we don’t understand is somehow gaining us an advantage. We not only do this with our money, but we do this with our schedules, thinking that maxing-out our schedules to be available for work 24/7, being over-booked with social events, or filling our time with making sure that we are up-to-date on everything happening in the media and social media is going to give us some competitive edge otherwise.
