This episode is pretty special for me, and for my guest. Collin has a very inspiring story to share with us. Collin was an employee of mine about 9 years ago. I hired him because I liked him. He was young, and had raw talent. He has that thing, that makes him likable to anyone he meets. He can make a warm connection with people immediately and in sales, that is something that can’t be taught.

Collin worked for me for about two years. During those two years he was losing a battle to alcohol. After giving him a second chance, I had to let him go. It was hard for both of us. I wanted him to beat this and to be OK, and he hated letting me down. To this day, he’s the only person I know who has had both of his appendices removed.

He hit bottom and started climbing his way back. He found himself as a producer for a high producing aggressive agency owner in town. I knew if he could make it with her, he would’ve turned an important corner. Collin worked there for 8 years and became a crucial cog in her machine.

He went on to be awarded an agency of his own on 1/1/2021 and he and his team are off to a historic start. They have written 51 life policies in the first 60 days of the year.

Collin went from, “I want to do the least amount of work to make the most money” as a young adult, to “I am going to be so good, I will not be denied. The struggle is where you grow”
