Simulating the load capacity of a DIY double scissors elevator and preparing the upper plate (Ep 2)

Listen Later

Second episode of the playlist "Modeling, simulating, machining and installaling of a DIY double scissors elevator able to load a 1 ton boiler."

(NB : Disponible en français https://diode.zone/w/unmFcsZXyiuqwioLfV8hnv )

Simulating the force required in the hydraulic cylinder of a double scissors elevator with Solidworks motion study (Solidworks tutorial : defining material and mass of parts, simulating forces, gravity and actuate the hydraulic cylinder ; Ploting forces, stroke of the elevator and stroke of the piston).

How to increase the lever ratio of DIY elevator by increasing the angle of the hydraulic cylinder (called Beta in the previous episode).

Analysis of simulation results and applying it to the DIY elevator modeled in order to calculate the maximum load capacity.

This DIY elevator will be integrated in a basement and will be used to carry a 1 ton boiler, as detailed in the episode 1 (https://diode.zone/w/9SdDUqAGU6KjN8f5QxEQ3e ).

This video also shows a specic design of scissors elevator based on a connecting rod and present the 3D model related.

Finally, the steel sheet of the upper plate of the elevator is prepared (rust removed by brushing and acid cleaning).
Several parts of the upper plate have been machined... In this next episode, the upper plate will be assembled...
